Her role is shared with the chthonic goddess Miru.
She is depicted as a squid or an octopus. But just as often
as a beautiful woman.
She was part of a group of spirits that were “spit out” by
the gods.
Lead by Kanaloa, another spirit, they launched a rebellion
against the gods but were defeated.
They were banished to the underworld.
